Heading from Sydney to Minneapolis for EYEO Festival !
Arriving in town, the weathers great, sun is shining, and the place is a really spacious green wonder! Hard not to feel pretty great!
Interesting architecture about the place – this really interesting mix of space and gigantic buildings – really – the buildings here are just way above human scale – yet sparsely placed around the downtown area.
I guess that’s the American style – which with the real green element of the city makes for a pretty cool stroll :)
Downtown the financial centre is pretty quiet by night – but a real bike city – innercity traffic seems minimal – so plenty of cyclists getting about on their daily commute.
The first day of EYEO was a great start – workshops in Javascript and HTML5 tools – and a great kick off Keynote night and party, too.
Really cool interactive performance installation at the end of the speeches – huge coloured lighting balloons triggering and bouncing around the crowd in the dark to a techy sound design. A really innocent, humorous, light-hearted and innovative interactive piece.
Met heaps of cool people – shaping up to be a great few days !
Also pics here of the gigantic screen display on the top of Target Tower – a 700,000 LED wall that wraps the entire top of the skyscraper !
